Roger Crawford’s comments:

“Harmony” was brought to me last spring for a complete reconditioning.  She was in decent shape and not used hard when she arrived but then had an extensive upgrade to bring the boat into the best condition possible.  $3,500 worth of work was done on her.  See below:

REPAIRS TO: Repairs and reconditioning to Melonseed Skiff # 459 “Harmony” to like new condition

4/17-5/27/26

Repairs to the blue gelcoat to remove all the scratching and damage buff/compounding/polish and restore the finish to a high gloss.

Repair gold pinstripe.

A heavy coat of West System epoxy and graphite (carbon) powder was painted on the bottom of the hull to protect damage to the gelcoat and add a strong hard coating.

Refinished the teak combings, rubrails by sanding down to bare teak and applying 4 thin coats of Cetol Natural.  Rudder and tiller received three coats of Cetol.

Refinishing the spars by fully sanding them and applying two coats of clear sealer and 5 coats of Epifanes gloss varnish.

Repair the teak floorboards, sand down to bare wood and apply two fresh coats of Amazon Golden teak oil.

Clean or polish various pieces of bronze hardware.

Replace all bungees

Add a “tiller tamer” rig with shock cord to control the tiller.

Check/lube trailer + tires and install “bearing buddies” on the wheel hubs.

I can personally attest to what a bargain this boat is at the $8,900 price.  If Melonseeds were in production a new one would cost in the low – mid $20,000’s and “Harmony” is offered at about 37% of that.

All the usual accessories accompany her: oars, cushions, trailer in great condition, etc., and a brand new $800 mooring  cover.
